Purpose
The Municipal Airport Committee is established by Chapter 2.50.140 of the Sunnyside Municipal Code to make recommendations to the City Council on the following matters relative to the operation of the Sunnyside Municipal Airport:
- Adoption and amendment of rules and regulations for the operation and use of airport facilities
- Construction and maintenance
- Determining charges or rentals for the use or leasing of any location
- Developing comprehensive and long-range plans for airport development and financing
- Leasing or assignment for the operation or use of any space, area, improvements, or equipment
- Maintaining liaison with other governmental bodies regarding municipal airport operations and financing
- Promoting and fostering the development of the Sunnyside Municipal Airport
- Securing and enforcement of liens and enforcement of payment of any charges due
Organization
The Municipal Airport Advisory Board shall consist of nine members; four members shall be citizens at large who reside within the boundaries of Sunnyside School District 201, as such now exist or are hereafter altered, and who are knowledgeable in airport operations and maintenance; one member shall be a member of the City Council; one member shall be a member of the Port of Sunnyside Board of Commissioners or designee; one member shall be a City department head or designee; and one member shall be a designated representative of Sunnyside Community Hospital. Additionally, the City Manager shall serve as an ex officio member of the Board.
