Subject:     City of Sunnyside Places City Manager Mike Gonzalez on Paid Administrative Leave Pending Investigation

 

On June 2, 2025, during a study session, the Sunnyside City Council voted 5-2 to place City Manager Mike Gonzalez on paid administrative leave, effective immediately, pending the outcome of an internal investigation.

 

As this is a personnel matter, details of the investigation remain confidential.

 

During the same meeting, the Council unanimously appointed Fire Chief Cameron Haubrich to serve as Acting City Manager. He will continue in this role until an interim City Manager is formally appointed at a special City Council meeting scheduled for Wednesday, June 4, 2025, at 6 PM.

 

At this time, the city will not be providing additional comments regarding the investigation.
