Fireworks Permit Application Now Available Online!
APPLICATION PERIOD IS NOW CLOSED!
Get ready to celebrate the Fourth of July safely and legally in Sunnyside! Residents who wish to discharge fireworks within city limits are required to obtain a fireworks permit and for your convenience, applications are now available online.
Application Period:
June 23, 2025 – July 3, 2025 at 11:59 AM. The deadline to apply and pay for permits has been extended to 3 PM. Permits will not be available after the deadline and signs have to be picked up by 4:30 PM on July 3, 2025. Unpaid permits after this deadline will not be accepted.

Once your application is complete and payment is submitted, you’ll receive a confirmation email.
Permit Fee:
$50.00 per permit
Pick Up Required Yard Sign:
After applying online, bring a printed copy of your permit or your confirmation email to City Hall to pick up your required yard sign. This sign must be displayed in your front yard while discharging fireworks.
Legal Fireworks Only:
Please ensure that your fireworks are legal in the State of Washington.

Fireworks Reminders:
- Fireworks are only allowed during designated hours of 5 PM to 11:59 PM July 2-6, 2025.
- Displaying your yard sign is required.
- Permits help us keep the community informed and safe.
- Clear the road if you see emergency vehicles trying to get through, seconds matter in an emergency!
- Only using fireworks during allowed times
- Never using fireworks near dry grass or flammable materials
- Have a water or a hose nearby
- Cleaning up all debris
