Subject: City of Sunnyside Places City Manager Mike Gonzalez on Paid Administrative Leave Pending Investigation

 

On June 2, 2025, during a study session, the Sunnyside City Council voted 5-2 to place City Manager Mike Gonzalez on paid administrative leave, effective immediately, pending the outcome of an internal investigation.

 

As this is a personnel matter, details of the investigation remain confidential.

 

During the same meeting, the Council voted 5-2 to appoint Fire Chief Cameron Haubrich to serve as Acting City Manager. He will continue in this role until an interim City Manager is formally appointed at a special City Council meeting scheduled for Wednesday, June 4, 2025, at 6 PM.

 

At this time, the city will not be providing additional comments regarding the investigation.
