DEPUTY MAYOR Francisco Guerrero


Deputy Mayor Guerrero was appointed to the Sunnyside City Council on March 25, 2013 to fill an unexpired term and was elected to the City Council in November 2013. His current term (Position 4) expires December 31, 2021. Prior to his appointment to the City Council, he served as Vice-Chair on the Sunnyside Planning Commission.

Deputy Mayor Guerrero has lived in the Sunnyside area for close to 30 years. Deputy Mayor Guerrero earned his bachelor's degree in Business Administration and is currently the Financial Center Manager for HAPO Community Credit Union. His wife Maria Elena Guerrero, a Sunnyside native, owns Innovation Resource Center, a susbstance abuse treatment facility in Sunnyside. They have two children, one which attends the Sunnyside School District and the other soon to start.

"I believe we have a moral fiduciary responsibility to the taxpayers of our city and intend to provide direction in the proper use of these funds in a way that will bring value to the whole community."


Deputy Mayor Guerrero currently serves as a Board Member for the South Central Washington Workforce Development Council and is a member of the Sunnyside Coalition. Deputy Mayor Guerrero was also a former Board Member of the Sunnyside Chamber of Commerce prior to his appointment to City Council.
