The cost to connect to City water is based upon the size of the water meter as well as the distance from the watermain to the location of the water meter box. Based on a 40-foot distance, the cost for a one-inch service would be approximately $1,500. This includes the meter and all materials and labor for work performed by City Crews. Work may also be performed by a licensed contractor of your choice; however, the water meter must be purchased from the city of Sunnyside.
The cost of all new services is determined by the most current material prices by the Public Works Department.
Equity Fees for Residential Water Service
In addition to the installation cost, there is an equity fee of $500.
Equity Fees for Commercial & Industrial Service
In addition to the installation cost, there is a water system equity fees for commercial and industrial connections shall be the larger of:
- $.05 per square feet of the building or structure to which the water connection is being made
- $3 per gallon of demand, based upon the size of the water meter
